About Journeys Driving Academy

We're an established, locally-run, MTO-approved driving school. We've taught Sarnia-Lambton to drive since 2015, and now we're bringing the same team to Wallaceburg.

No franchise, no call centre. Real people from here, who answer the phone and remember your name.

Our story

An academy, not a school.

“

I called it an academy on purpose. A school teaches you the basics and sends you off. An academy is about refining, educating and giving students the tools to actually excel, not just pass. I want every person who trains with us to be a safe, confident, defensive driver, whether they’re driving across Sarnia or across the country.

How we teach

We teach the person,
not the test.

Every student arrives somewhere different: some nervous, some in a hurry, some who’ve never sat behind a wheel. We get to know you and your anxieties first, then tailor the lessons from there. The goal isn’t only to pass the road test. It’s to make you a driver who’s still safe ten years from now.

Teens

First-time drivers building good habits from day one.

Adults

Getting licensed later, at a pace that respects your time.

Newcomers

New to Canada and learning our legal requirements and road regulations. Bilingual help available.

Seniors

Refreshing skills and confidence with patient instruction.

Defensive

Extensive defensive driving classroom, for fleet and personal driving requirements.

Real, local, approachable

Local roots

A genuine Sarnia business.

We learned to drive on the same streets you’re learning on: the waterfront, downtown, the roads out past the beaches. Our office sits downtown on Durand Street, and most of our students come from a neighbour, a coworker, or a friend telling them to call us.

Now we’re bringing the same team and the same standard to Wallaceburg.

Fleet Driver Training

School bus, Class B, C, E/F and custom fleet programs, taught by a P.R.I.D.E. certified instructor. We also run defensive driving courses for your drivers, at your site or ours, built around how your organization actually runs.
